I may not be perfect...

I'm not perfect...that's for sure,
but my heart's aimed on seeking pure.
It's as the ocean washes clean the sand,
sea gulls nibble remnants thrust to land.

Gusts sweep away the impurities in the air,
free the pollutions lingering there.
A spirit can tranish and rust over time,
evil can overtake...as it grows and entwines.

A heart grows hard and breathes in the cold,
causes our bodies to lose sight of our souls.
We can't lose sight of what's right...what's wrong,
life's not worth living...if our essence is gone.

I seek to walk in His light every day,
pray He'll keep me from walking astray.
Mayhems will intimidate and sway decisions,
leaving us feeling heavy and unforgiving.

If we seek to see His Almighty Face,
we'll be adept to put up with this daily race.
We must search for transparency in all we endure,
knowing God discerns our effort and keeps us pure.

I might not be perfect...that's one thing for sure,
but my heart's aimed on trusting He waits at my door.

Barbard, this is an inspiring poem. None of us are perfect, but the quest for excellence is an admirale and praiseworthy commendation for any person. I enjoyed your lovely poem and theis phrase, "God discerns our effort and keeps us pure" stuck with me.
