We dance and toast...professing our affections...

Here we lie all alone...
no one around...everyone gone.
Our hearts are full of harmony and love,
we put on music...dance a jitterbug.

We lower lights and snuggle tight,
enjoy our moments of the night.
Laughing and swinging to the sounds,
even old Rover jumps around.

Robert looks into my eyes,
swears I'm his treasured prize.
We are two happy souls living as one,
knowing about life and proud of our love.

The children's not here...it's our time to play,
kissing and dancing the night away.
Time is of essence...we've got to have fun,
in a moment's notice...kids on the run.

We dance and toast...profess our affections,
romancing like someone gave us lessons.
We enjoy our candle light in the den,
a moment of silence to let it all soak in.

He cuddles me in his masculine arms,
gives me a sense of security...free from harm.
The children runs in to let us know,
it's time out until they go to another movie show.

You dance and toast, extremely well, Barbara! Something we should all do, far more often with our loved ones. And with old Rover, too!

Those precious moments alone I remember well and how I would rush home on my lunch hour and my dear wife was waiting for me in the bed room while our kids were at school.

"A Sneak Preview" is a beautiful poem, Barbara. It characterizes a broad population of mommies and daddies who have to steal those moments when they can just as your poem denotes. Enjoyable read.
