Many people laugh when we say we're going on a trip...
We're preparing for a trip to a Heavenly site,
don't know if it will come in the day or night?
We'll soar through the clouds to a Heavenly place,
as God stands waiting by the Pearly Gates.
Many people laugh when we say we're going on a trip,
look, and ask, "Are you sure you all haven't flipped?"
Liquid appears to our eyes as they say cruel things,
when God calls out they'll want to share our wings.
We try to reach out and touch others lives,
oft times, We're ignored and not treated right.
A day is coming when they'll think back to us,
wishing they had wings because they can't catch a bus.
Some people believe life is an endless thing,
as they live their lives like queens and kings.
They don't believe there's a Great I Am,
believe religion is a scam.
We'll never give up our faith in Him,
He's our confident, our peace, and our friend.
He guides us through darkness into the light,
easing our pains, heartaches, and all of our strife.
There's coming a day...we'll make this joyeous trip,
they'll think about the time they thought we had flipped.
We'll rise up to meet God at His Heavenly Gate,
We're in the offering for this upcoming date.
Hey barbara, Keep smiling and forgiving all who doubt. WE can make ourselves an example for all our lives and sooner or later they come around. Peace and harmony are mere words. There are no real words to explain paradise or the feeling of being forgiven.
Love and thanks,
Susan
I've never thought of going to heaven as a trip, but [yet] I keep "my bags packed" just in case it's sooner than later. Each of us should do ALL we can with each moment of life that is given to us because living with God for all eternity is what I hope for me and all humanity. Your poem is beautiful and filled with God's inspiration.
A lovely write, Barbara. I've known people who weren't religious, but when they suffered a severe shock from some tragic event, the first thing that came out of thier mouths was, "Oh, my God!"
Wonderful write Barbara. I'm with you; looking forward to that trip to our eternal home with God. Who knows? Could be tonight and I'm all packed and ready to go. God bless.

Even so, Come, Lord Jesus. I'm ready for an eternal vacation, where there will be no tears, no pain, no suffering, no wars...beautiful inspiration, Barbara, well penned.
Still Living on my Feet is the follow up to Tichaona Chinyelu’s first book, In the Whirlwind, which was rooted in a sense of hard-hitting revolutionary black love. However, in this sophomore effort, Tichaona brings the revolutionary essence from deep
This collection of poetry addresses the nature of time, reflections on the natural world, the difficulty of loss,
contemporary social issues and gratitude for life.
Using Calgary as a backdrop the author satirizes the self-serving nature of the public as it continues to fatten itself, not only physically, but egotistically as well.

I plan to take that trip one day. Looking forward to seeing you there. Blessings Always, Paul.
