Rebellion Is Forgiven

My strength was sucked up like water in arid heat...

Mighty winds blew and swept throughout the night,
cleansing souls of sins, dropping them out of sight.
The rebellious ones slates were finally wiped clean,
nothing remained but their joyful songs they sang.

Oh, what joy as freed sinners rejoiced and praised their King,
gracious to Him for all the records He'd wiped clean.
The battle was won and they were all set free,
now they lived their lives in complete honesty.

When I refused to confess of my mistakes and sins,
I was weak and miserable and the devil lived within.
I longed for freedom as the sins riddled my soul,
moaning and groaning afraid God would call me home.

God's mighty hand laid on me day and night,
leaving me challenged and feeling the blight.
His discipline was laying heavy on my soul,
my sins ate at my heart, leaving it soiled and foul.

My strength was sucked up like water in arid heat,
I could do nothing...I was weak and couldn't eat,
confessing the sins I tried to hide from Him,
He forgave me and welcomed me to come on in.

Psalm 32:1-5 NLT

To move on we must forgive and wipe the slate clean, we have to forgive ourselves in order to accept the forgivness from others. Thank you or sharing Barbara.

I think most of us--as we age--seek the cleansing forgiveness of God for sins of the past. Your poem clearly denotes your own search for that healing grace. Well done...

Only we know inside, and we must forgive ourself first and believe it for wiping slates clean to really mean anything...It's all about self forgiveness...

Perhaps wiping our slate clean is a better way for some people to think of being gorgive of sins. Even the commercials are reborn with the new lingo. Let's spread "wiping our slates clean" being born within.
Love,
Susan
