We're weaklings without God,
He strengthens us with His mighty arms,
clears all the pathways we trod,
keeps us safe and free of all harm.
God's way is perfect in everything,
shields all who believe in Him,
makes our steps surefooted as we're walking,
allows us to feel His presence as we believe in Him.
God's promises to us prove to be true ,
He prepares us for battles and trials,
leaves us strong and our souls in tune,
prohibits us from slipping into denials.
God's gentleness makes us feel worthwhile,
as He strokes the soreness out of our souls,
removes the thorns we gather out in the wild,
grants us support while listening to our untold.
For who is God except the Lord?
Our God, is our shield of salvation, a solid rock,
leads our foundations to His open door,
He is there...if we should but knock.
How right you are, Barbara. He, with love and patience, waits for us misguided souls to reach out to Him, to rest in Him. Oh, what a stubborn lot we are, refusing His comfort and tenderness preferring to frolic in the meaningless things of this world. "The Lord is good to all; and His tender mercies are over all His works." Psalm 145:9
What a wonderfully inspiring write my friend, you've penned a beautiful uplifting write full of wisdom. God does prepare us for the battles that we face, He teaches us about putting on the whole armor so that we may be able to stand...He allows us experience smaller trials to strengthen and prepare us for larger ones...well done my friend.

As I read this, I could only think that you're talking 'to the choir.' My feelings about God match yours. Without Him, I could never have survived all that has been put in my life's path.
