I CHOSE THE NAME JOE, YOU CAN USE ANY NAME YOU CHOOSE

JOE WAS SPECIAL ...KNOWN BY ONE AND ALL

HE WAS A SON.. BROTHER... HUSBAND... FATHER..FRIEND AND A PAL

TO SOME HE WAS SLIM AND TALL..TO OTHERS SHORT AND STOUT

FOR MOST HIS SIZE WAS NOT WHAT HE WAS ABOUT

HIS SMILE MADE YOU HAPPY...HIS TEARS CAME WHEN YOU WERE DOWN

IF YOU HAD WORRIES...FOR YOU HE WORE A FROWN

HE STOOD UP FOR YOU WHEN ALL OTHERS THOUGHT YOU WERE WRONG

IF YOU NEEDED PRAISE,,, HE SANG YOUR SONG

WHEN IT WAS DARK... HE BROUGHT THE LIGHT

IF YOU WERE BLINDED ... HE WOULD GIVE YOU HIS SIGHT

FOR ALL YOUR ACHIEVEMENTS ... HE WAS SO PROUD

IF IT WERE NEEDED... HE COULD DISAPEAR IN THE CROWD

WE ALL KNOW JOE... IN DIFFERENT WAYS

EVERY SO OFTEN WE SHOULD GIVE HIM PRAISE

My Joe... is my husband.....and he's a good and godly man, too.

I agree with Eileen...lots of them are angels who have been assigned to make the way easier for us.

Good write, Ron.......I think you ARE a Joe

Joe was less of a hick than Abraham Lincoln, much nobler than Dick Cheney, a better person than JFK, not worthy of impeachment like Nixon and certainly not like Clinton. Joe was my Daddy. He was six foot three or so and strong with broad shoulders, and had a face that held integrity more solidly and through more hardships than any man in all of history. He died a hero, saving another man's life. Your average Joe? You don't know him at all.

Oh yes!!!

I've been fortunate to meet many a Joe or Mary just like this Ron.
Thanks for this deserving pen.

Amen! It's so true Ron! I once wrote a poem about the people in our lives that make a difference, who are unselfish and always there. I think many of them are angels;-) Excellent poem!...Eileen
