I come to you, my Lord,
in humble request,
that You would replenish,
and bring my soul rest.
Though You never forsake me --
I'm a child of Your heart --
yet my sin comes between us
and keeps us apart.
When I think of my sin,
all its ugly endeavors,
I feel once again
our relationship severed,
for sin, such a part of me,
crushes my soul
as it separates me
from Your loving control.
Please draw me again
to Your throne of grace,
and let me gaze into
Your wonderful face.
For moment by moment
I need You, my Lord;
need wisdom for living,
and friendship restored.
I John 1:9 says,
"If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness."

I am blessed by this poem because you have shared how God's love continues to flow and forgive as we come to Him in repentance, and His faithfulness cleanses us from our sins, while His grace gives us the wisdom to learn from it and obey Him.

One we should each remember every morning.
Nice to know I'm not the only one to feel this way.
But you verbalize it so well.
