Another day, another reason to holler
I want to rattle your cage, but now
I am defeated and hope fell down by the wayside
Do I need to throw it in your face one more time
Just because it’s on my mind
Does it matter if when you’re home with me
It’s off to bed at twelve or before
And when you slip away out into the night
It's bar close or is it later when you slip in
Smelling of cigarettes & cheap perfume
We hold on like a rope ready to break
At any moment prepared to cut our losses to
Make a desperate dash for freedom
Another night, another reason to be an angry caller
I want to shake you until you see
When I’m alone, you’re sleeping on my pride
Arms open, I let you back in
Knowing you will run again
From me, yourself, from everything
All in vain because you cannot
Flee far enough to escape you
Do I need to throw it in your face one more time
Just because it’s on my mind?

A disturbing write...not because you have not expressed yourself effectively (because you have) but because nobody should have to live with this kind of abusive behaviour. Neglect is a form of abuse too as you know.
Thanks for sharing...Chanti

A very sad situation. If you look, you will see better days ahead.

Be safe,
Karen
