To The Readers of Poems
No value rises from even perfect words
Without the heart to feel them
What time should be rendered clearly
In the black stanza’s permanence
If no other eyes would see it
Words are mighty in themselves
But the pen caresses paper like the lover
Who is ever faithful and accepting
For the sacred chance to give
In all feeling, all experience
Truth as it is able, light as it can radiate,
It is the reader that gives the words meaning
The link that makes the chain of thought, word, and creation
Circle full around and fill with magic
To live eternal on the page
Be always safe,
Karen
