Eat well to be well poem/song.

Sugaroo – oo – oo – oo !

What’ll ya do if it come for you?

Eatin’ sugar, carbs and all that goo,

See it a comin’ way down th’ road,

And ya body can’t take that load.

A bad d’zease soon make ya cry,

Or ‘nother maybe getcha leg’r eye,

So, if too soon ya don’t wanna die,

Do coffee, green tea ‘n veggy pie!

Get you some squash ‘n lotsa beans,

Broccoli, cabbage, ‘n collard greens

Vinear ‘n ginger on ya spinach ‘n kale,

Onions ‘n garlic, hearty ‘n hale.

Berries on ya salad, ‘n red grapes,

Best stuff f’r us greatest of apes,

Tomatoes, walnuts ‘n cherries too,

Sprinkle on D3 ‘n flaxseed,

a few – oo – oo – oo.

Ya get th’ picture, don’t ya now

Eatin’ fruits and veggies is how,

If ya move ya body, rain ‘r sun,

Ya be real good f’r th’ long run.

What’ll ya do if it come for you?

Eatin’ sugar, carbs ‘n all that goo,

See it a comin’ way down th’ road

’Ya body ain’t gonna take that load.

Knowin’ -- ya body can’t take that load!

Sugar—oo – oo – oo !

Cleverly created and there is meaning behind the "lighter tone" of your poem. Nicely done, Leland. Thank you for sharing your wit. Love and peace to you,

Regis

Sugar is sweet,
and so is fruit.
But I like beans,
for their toot.

You had me singing before I finished the second stanza. A fine jingle with a lot of good sense worked in. After a life of rather ascetic eating that I tried to teach my helpers when they first came to work for me 20 years ago is still there, only the portions have increased, there's more carbohydrates and I'm getting way more chocolate and cake and other goodies that I avoided for so long. My waistline is creeping outward and I keep telling myself that at my age I should be able to stop worrying about what I eat. But my craving still bothers me…

In spite of the serious tone above, your poem had me chuckling.

A fun and delightful read, and with a good message as well!
