Demons

My wily demons of the dark,

 

Invade my every pore,

I think they tend to hurt me more,

 

Those blackened shadows, stark,  

 

When held too closely to my vest.

 

But to my sheer and utter delight,

When I embrace sunlight,

 

I get the bastards off my chest.
