Poem Artwork

The banquette’s
been lade.

To serve of,
so fit,
that every tongue licks!

Fulfilling, that cavernous ail. . .

Spewed out and spattered,
grounded,
against a cold stone of bones.
Now,  they eat lam alone for the lurch
and, desert, with a loaf of lurking,

pieced off.

Washed down, sinking. . .
Percolating in
that cup of culpa; spite
pouring out,
order up,

the "Drizzles of Death!"

Besprinkled in their drool
". . . And the drivel’s?"
Spatted and slobbered,
clabbered in the riddles. . .
Some, might go for the whole rack, or, better yet, egg on,

in the fire . . .

Sliced, spat,
and skewed,
into those sticky throes before them!
Scraping,
thin-skinned,

God-willing!

"Who, still lives
bruised in their batters,
beaten up. . .
crumbled with age on top?"
Look out their shudders!

Their walkaway’s, now empty, wavering. . .

Earnest in thy self. . .
"Pity . . . I’m still here.",
some, will utter . . .
or, ". . . for forever, I’ve been left behind!"
His responds . . . ?

He replied!

But, my question is, "Why did he have to die?"
I have tried and tried,
not to cry
...and yet, "Has he any tears?"
It’s been years!

Alone, without him . . .

For years, I ‘ve walked in this never-ending fog
while he’s up there . . .
with God!
Without sin!
Without any bane!

"Do you know I walk with a cane, now?"

"Does anyone have enough sense to pick up my tab?"
Mines’ the entree with the soft diet. . . .
The cutlas had ramifications!
My fork still attacks, in tine, and the knife still stabs;
The recipe has changed. That’s all!

(Somehow, "they" still call it life, though . . . )

The pic and your sentiment in this are so in sync. I feel like a mist just descended upon me. Your heart is full and throbbing and confused it seems (it might just be me). If we look closely the only thing in this life that really makes any sense is love - it is what we were designed to hold onto and share. Superb imagery Kimmy friend from a true talent.

Blessings ...

The dark mood in this poem is mournful and profound. An interesting write that makes one want to say, "Do not go gently into that good night." That picture is really fantastic with the lone man in the distance--walking away.

Seems very dark and grim but indeed factual. Excellent writing my friend. Peace, Love and Blessings Always, Paul.

Ah, Kimmers, life and death in consuming foggy motion always a shadow of want in an ache of maybe. Whee!

Also love that pic but those benches would cripple a skinny butt. Note that the one visible person is walking, not sitting!

Hi Kimmy,

This certainly is an original write. I enjoyed reading it and could picture in my mind the pictures described. I am guessing that this tells about our lives, and they are rather depressing, right? Good writing, though.

Best wishes.

Interesting write about aging...
I can see your words in many of the thoughts that my grandmother expressed as she grew older...and older...without her husband by her side. She lived a widow for over 45 years before she passed away...

Such an intriguing, detailed and graphic write. So glad I chanced upon your words this day. Made me think of my dear grandmother Renee such a gorgeous and strong woman who laid in bed at age 94 married 60 years with her husband now gone almost saying to me one day before she passed the exact same words you penned. They are together now. Great poem, Deborah

Earnest in thy self. . .
"Pity...I’m still here...",
Some, will utter.
Or, ". . . for forever, I’ve been left behind!"
