"Back In the Day"

I'm center stage down on the floor
singing "Summertime" to an audience of battalion or brigage or more.

"Summertime and the livin is
easy, fish are jumping...."

Yes, I'm older now and I've been
born again- but I can still remember
the pleasure and the adrenalin rush when I'd win the contest singing my gospel,
spirituals, blues and jazz; oh how I
overwhelmed the audience with my pizzaz..

I won gold medals, brass thophies and yellow rose bouquet, for performances
with USO Show guest and Goodwill
Shows.

This Vietnam Army Era Sergeant brought
the audience to their feet...
And by the light of the disco balls
of the 70's and 80's I felt like
Pearl Bailey at Carnegie Hall.

"Won't you come home Bill Bailey- Won't you come home..."

I've come to know Jesus with Love, Words, and Gifts from the Heart of
God. I trust Him I love Him, He has renewed my mind.

I write, read, sing and tell His story.
Sometimes theres a tinge of the spirit of blues and jazz but if you

Use His Gifts wisely,
He will guide you too.
It's not about you,
It's His story.
