my poem "choices" just came to mind one day when i picked up my daughter from school and noticed there was too many pregnant teenage girls around.
this is not what i expected
now that i am not respected
because i forgot to take
a pill causing a bad mistake
in the life of a scared teen
now i am stuck in between
the choice to bring into this world
a helpless little boy and girl
or commit the act of murder
and not take this any further
there was no easy solution
each day there was more confusion
in my heart trying to find
the answer for whats on my mind
turning back the clock to fix
the error that was causing this
would have been a worse mistake
knowing that i could not take
the memories of never knowing
how my babies are now growing
into my two precious twins
im glad i made the choice to win
my own family filled with love
each night i thank heaven above
for giving me the strength to see
some things are just meant to be
Each person is but a grain of sand resting beside the sea. This thought sets the tone for Jill Eisnaugle’s latest poetry collection, Beside Still Waters.
