Sometimes we get caught up in our own self pity...and are reminded of our blessings.

Existing

Awake and rise in the usual way…
While on the drive to begin the day…I pray.
Tears on the outside…tears on the inside,
Meeting strangers, familiar faces, the pain carefully tucked away, I pray I exist.

An actor I’ve become…a stranger to myself…
I smile and keep going…I pray.
I pray for strength, I pray for peace, I pray…I exist.

A glimmer of hope shines through…
Hope of a new tomorrow, forgetting the past.
Living for today, pressing for tomorrow…I pray.
This is a test, a test of strength, a test of faith I whisper…
I pray…I exist.

A small joy I feel deep within,
A smile finds my lips…
This is my strength, my peace, and my life.
My family, my friends, my today,
my hope…
Thank you Lord…I pray as I continue to live.
