Oh my gosh, the same name and more. Kindred spirits we must be.
I cook in my Griswold cast iron. I have a special prayer rocker in a room filled with teddy bears, one sits at an old time school desk with the ink well. He has a half-pint milk bottle, and books. The room has pretty china tea cups, old pottery and flea market finds. I'm grew up in the hills of West Virginia. I love gardening, growing herbs, reading, writing, and I taught preschool. I have a large Maine Coon cat named Vegas, and a small poodle named Maggie. I read two of your poems and am in the process of reading more. Want to read your stories too.
Thank you for the kind words in the review.
God bless,
The other Joyce

I delight in both the content and substance of this write, Joyce. I adore the quiet and security of it, the richness and its enduring quality. Shows great inner peace and equilibrium... and without that, what's the use of "fleeing away"? After all, wherever I go, there I am!! Thanks for sharing this precious place. Wish we could all go there! K xx

Joyce; When I first looked at this title, I thought it was going to be something about the Myspace website!! haha
This poem made me look around and i thought, Joyces' space is alot like "MY" space!! It is so good to have a good space to rest and reflect in. I like you, appreciate everything i have and never take it for granted. My heart absolutely breaks for the people that don't appreciate what they have and for those that would give anything to have what we do. A space that is our own, that nobody can take away from us. Growing up, I don't remember there being homeless people, maybe they were there, I just didn't know it. You have put words into feelings that we all need to create. Our space in this day and age, is oh, so precious! I thank God everyday for the wonderful place I am fortunate to have. It isn't fancy or luxurious, but it is mine! MY SPACE!! I think I will make a little sign and put it over my chair and put MySpace on it!! Thank you for sharing your home and your heart with us.

Blessing to you,
Linda Wells

Aw Joyce, If I had a picture in my mind of where you are , it would be in Vermont where I used to live in the home of a dear friend. I realize that you are a far piece from Vermont, but the sentiment and the pure coziness of your view from your favorite spot is as comfortable and inviting as your poetry...

Taylor

How true. there is nothing like familiar personal space, whatever you have in it--dolls or a darkroom--to recharge you. Universal feelings caught here with very personal objects. good job

Blueberry cheesecake candles????? I have not seen those here in SoCal - it sounds/smells lovely. Joyce you have a way of tramsporting the reader into a peaceful place where all makes sense and the sounds and smells and brick-a-brack of our lives are a blessing instead of a chore.

Comfort lives in each beautiful word, Joyce; a haven, indeed, the quiet place we turn to. Well done! Thank you for taking me there, if only for a moment. Nay. Not a moment--shall save this, to return to again and again.

(((HUGS))) and love, Karla.

Sounds great, what a beautiful expression. It makes me want to stay in my Haven forever...oh how lovely that would be. How many of us forget how our Haven housed so...many memories, hidden past, secrets, happy times, the laughter, the quiet intimacy...;wow, what a gift to be able to express and pierce the hearts so we can't forget.
Thank you for that beautiful memory of our comfort zone.
Thank you, Loretta

And a lovely menagerie it is Joyce. A well worn Bible is a sure sign of wisdom and a satisfied heart. The surroundings filled with these things which are precious to you say a great deal about who you are and what is in your heart. Well done!
