Joyce, God's love is so very powerful, as you already know. He is always there for all to soothe the pain and lift the spirit. What a touching and loving write!
Only believe, only believe, all things are possible if we only believe! Whenever you submit yourself to God and accept Him as your Lord & Savior, a new person arises. This is absolutely beautiful Joyce...it touched me so much!
Reminded me of that lovely hymn: 'Thank you Lord for saving my soul, thank you Lord for making me whole, thank you Lord for giving to me, salvation so great and so free.'
The longer I serve Him, the sweeter he grows! Truly beautiful poem Joyce, as all yours are to me. What a sweet spirit I feel when I read anything you write. It was 1980 when I surrendered all to Him too. I remember the day like it was yesterday, I shall never forget it and will always be gratful for a second chance. I am going to ThePoetsNest to read it with the music, I am sure it is even more beautiful there. Wish we had something like that here. Makes the poetry really come alive! The heavy burden we all bear, heavier when we doubt.
We all have a hiccup moment on our faith, when trying to fight back on our knees, when somebody blows out the light on our last candle.
The poem tells about, for me, of an intense desire not to give or to surrender, with a final thanks for the strength received.
