My friend shuffles the card,
we sit rubbing our fingers
looking in a distance
between a Jack and an Ace.
After many hours,
and many hands
things get a bit boring.
It feels as though,
it is not anymore a game
enjoyment is drying up like prunes.
Remains just the struggle to remember:
When who did what?

Excellent write ..Roshan
I love to play poker
While in Atlantic City
I bought a sweat shirt that read
"I was a JACK OFF in Atlantic City"
And a royal flush hand is spread showing
A Jack missing.
Peace be with you

William

I can relate. When I was young we used to play cards a lot and for hours. Then it became boring. Victor

Funny how boredom hits in all circumstances, leaving us to wonder why;-)Excitement and change are the things that do it;-)Excellent poem, Rosh!
