A comforting poem for the victims of the 9/11 tragedy or anytime we suffer loss.

A very lyrical expression of a poignant theme which goes right to the heart of the issue.

I'm sure many of its readers suffered loss from the tragedy of November11 in the USA. A poem such as this would nestle in their hearts and minds to assuage grief.

I live on the west coast of Australia and therefore the tragedy, though it aroused outrage for the act and grief for the bereaved, did not touch me in a direct way.

However, last Saturday I lost a dear friend of long standing to the Grim Reaper and felt (still feel) deep grief at the loss. I'm currently working on a poem about that and, along the way I have encountered your poem and the solace it has brought me.

Top marks for a simple yet powerful example of the poet's art and thanks for posting it.
