Truth is what you believe in

by D. Enise — Read all 64 poems by D. Enise

We each have the right
To our own truths,
Our own Voice..
To make our own choice.

We each have the right
To battle our demons, or Follow our hearts,
To learn and go on, or to lay down and cry.

We each have the right, for a place on this earth.
To express or to share, what we each may wish
Our feelings in heart. Our wondering thoughts
Or what we believe, truth or a fact

Our Faith or our Joys,
What may be our fears
Our laughter, our scorn
Or even our tears...

Expression is not
An attempt to lay claim
It's an offer to share
What we each believe.

How one may see life
How they may hurt
A lesson they've learned
Or what, may be a cure..

We will in life, each venture out
To another one's soul
Or another one's heart
Another thought shared,
A different belief...

Just as we have the right
To believe as we choose..
So do all others
That live here too.

~*~

This World of "ours"
The stars in the sky
The oceans and valleys
Or, Mountains on high,

The air we all breath
The water we drink
The sun that warms
Or the food that we eat..

We live here together,
We must learn to share
We all have been children
We all in some way care..

There is no need
For vicious attacks..
There are plenty of wars
& pains in this life

Life is to short,
Time does run short
There is hearing in kindness
Not in harsh words.

A tyrant may own
And may take by force
But never a mind,
a heart, or a soul.

Voices are heard
Difference's made
From hearts of choice
All over the world..

But never..
Will the truth of another
Be accepted by force
harm or cruel words..

We all live, love and Breath
Believe as you wish
Allow all others the same

Poem Artwork
There are to many lives lost,
To many people hungry or in pain
To many wars~
To many hurt by someone's need to be in control
or "right"..?

It is possible to be heard
Without causing another harm.

God gave us all~ Free Choice
Life is a gift,, Treasure it in as much peace as you can.

excellent write. flow, word choice- all reinforced the power of the topic.

as for the topic, as a poet i may not be able to "change the worls", but perhaps i may, thru my words, show the world how i have changed.- good write, thank you, i need the reminder.-steve
