For those of you who don't know.
I have been waiting for the last of this years foals
For about a month now!
This is "Lacy's" (My mare), second colt.
She had been pasture bred last year
By my "escapee", Young Jr. Stallion, So I was unsure of the due date
For this little wonder!
And, after who knows "how long" of staying awake! How many hours, I spent eyes "Glued" to that darn monitor!!
while on "Foal Watch"..Waiting, waiting,,
More waiting.. Often "wondering", "Maybe there is "NO" foal in there,
She just has been sneaking off to "Horsey belly dance classes" in the night
to have me thinking all that movement was a foal kicking!
All the While she of course, was laughing at me!, and sucking up all the added
extra loving attention, and "feed"!!
I had, because of the heat, moved her back out to pasture, and promptly
~ "FELL ASLEEP"!! Missed the whole darn thing!!
So Yesterday I woke up to a Beautiful Morning... looked out the window.. horses standing around grazing.. I counted them, didn't see any extra.. had a cup of coffee.. checked email,, went out to feed.. well I did get dressed in there somewhere first also, I didn't want to scare the heck out of anyone driving by, and have them wreck on my road!
So I set out to do the chores.. And "Lacy" appeared to have some much lighter colored hair than normal! So I checked closer! And she had 8 legs instead of 4!
Well that got me excited, "kinda sorta".. could have been Rocket (first born colt of the year that had "adopted" Lacy as his "2nd" mother), pretending Lacy was his mom, ... Again..... But nope,, so I rushed into the barn all excited, grabbed a halter and lead, and brought the pretty pair into the barn!
He's a he! 3 colts, no fillies... Darn! But.. he's gorgeous!! Not to sure at all what color he will be.. In the morning he was a Silvery color with whither, neck and leg shadings, dorso strip, black mane , black tail with some silver hairs.. and little lighting bolt looking stripes at the back of each leg that start at his hooves..Grulla?.. Oh I pray!!! But "Now" he is "pinkish, silverish?..Dun?..So who's to say..
I get so excited, waiting for them! I can't wait to see what they will be like, from as soon as the mares are bred! All year I dream about them!
It feels like.. the magic of Christmas, when I was little, all over again! Little Miricle gifts, found in the mornings of Spring Time!! *S*...
And now, I get to wait some more, to see what color they will be! *S*.
"Someone" "Must" be trying to tell me something! lol "Have patience"! *S*
Just thought I would share one of my little Miracles with you.
They make me smile so!!

I feel so blessed to be able to have them here with me.

Wonderful! I once saw an antelope being born at a wildlife park. I remember being amazed at how soon it was on its feet and starting to walk; probably only about ten minutes. The mother kept the rest of the herd away for a while, then they were allowed to come and say hello.
