WithinThe Glass Globe

by D. Enise — Read all 64 poems by D. Enise

In the land of Nowhere,
There are but two things,

The isolation to fall,,
Or the freedom to dream

Beware,,however
Should you visit this place

You could get lost
for the lack of fast pace.

A world alone,
A treasure, a threat

Entices the beauty,
land of glass globe,
Where all is serene
soft floating snow.

The longer you stay,
you can't see the walls
You can't see the danger
of no shadows, no thorns
Grows thicker the glass
the longer the stay
You can be trapped
inside your own dreams

The treasure the beauty,
of which, all around

The threat, the ugly
of pains left behind

How can it be?
A threat that you ask?

With all of that beauty
You run to embrace

When the beauty,
means safety, a world
without tears,
Because in the real world
So cruel, full of pain.

The glass becomes
cloudy, visions can fade
With each layer forming
the longer we stay.

The real world still out there,
And calls time to time,
sometimes with tears,
sometimes with pain,
But with every tear,
and with every pain
Is also the chance

To learn something new
To add to the visions
within the glass,
new beauty, new hope
new dreams they attract

New life comes from
growing out of the pains
New strengths to concure
All that we live.

There is no light,
without to the dark,
There are no shadows
Without that of the sun.

In order to feel real joy in your heart
you have to know tears,
the sorrows of dark.

The shadows cast
by that of the sun
can be a rest
when we do need to run

Within the shadows,
you can see the edge
To the bright light of the sun,
When ready to return.

So rest when you need,
visit the glass,
Don't stay to long
just build on your strength
remember there's beauty
within what seems dark.

The balance is needed,
Of both light and dark
there are new smiles
behind broken hearts.

Poem Artwork
Though isolation and solitude can be a safe retreat, an opportunity for reflection, to gather strength, it can also become an escape that can trap you.
Lost in the fantasy of the safety "created" within your own mind..
The Glass Globe..
Is a work in progress.
