Twirling around, twisting the thoughts
The place of emotions
When my mind swirls about.
Cascades of terror,
And then the self talk,
What is the matter?
I ask of myself!
What pain this can cause!
When heart begins doubt.
My heart starts aching,
Then anger provoked,
I did it again,
I tricked my own self!!
New mystery evolves
The newest conquest,
I'm safe all the while,
I keep telling myself.
Knowing full well
How the story begins
always pretending
No pain in the end.
I'm safe from heartache
I haven't yet given
Full trust to the dream
That promises freedom
I've only stepped out,
just for a peak,
Checking the waters
First for the sharks.
As time goes on,
The facade of my heart
Safe feeling of beginning
To one day find out,,
I did it again,
Tricked my own self
My heart wasn't safe
Was just in the dark!
You fool,
You fool,
How dare you believe
That one day would come
A chance to be free!
The turmoil begins,
As I knew deep inside,
That one day soon,
It indeed would arrive.
And in knowing that still
through my venture at risk,
The pain won't kill me,
That too.. is a trick.
