The Razor's Edge
a blade of grass cuts the edges of a heart's love so easily betrayed, so easily forgotten in the light of another, another whose light shines brighter, whose life seems so much more than what it really is, deceit takes over love, lost now are the tears that washed away the pain of falling down, your face buried looking through an earth that leads to hell, or does it, is hell beneath the blades of grass or is it here and now?
I guessed the answer came when a blade of grass left bloodstain tears upon the fresh dirt overturned by the shovel of a man whose job consists of burying the past. One wonders watching as I lose my strength to fight the weakness that overcomes me if I will be okay but then one catches me, catches me in my fall, holds me close as I push them away afraid to feel anything - afraid to let go of my pain that belongs to someone else, her pain, our sadness we share, no one could ever share that not the way we do, don't you understand it's not your place, leave us be as we face the depths of hell together feeling it here, feeling it there - wherever that is - tell me - tell me there's a quiet place where blades of grass don't cut like knives - tell me there's a place where there's not a man who stands silently with his shovel in hand to bury the past where I still live, lost to all I have, my memories, my pain, your pain - you -
I tumble - I fall down upon my sanity, lost upon a blade, a blade of grass cutting the edges of my heart's love so easily betrayed, watching as each day drifts by and it seems what was is wasting away, forgotten now in the light of others, others whose light shines more brightly only because deceit carries love to a safe haven away from truth - away from the pain of losing you.
a very moving piece. tinged of darkness, yet lived through a life of light. as the blades of grass cut deep our soul, yet they can be trampled down as is our lives sometimes. great writing
Refective piece...this work reads of a comparison, it could be as the grass within pastures of beauty, and it could be as the razor, which cuts and bleeds one into darkness, yet it also reads of a love shattered and broken by the deceit of this same love that incarcerates and or fills one with joy...even love has pain and the green pastures at times can be the bottomless pit we wish to escape...
