Softly, my love comes to me

Softly, my love comes to me


Quietly, as if to fill me with surprise


As she sinks


Softly,


Gently,


Into the marriage bed.


She whispers not

 

As now she is there beside me.

 

 

Wordlessly she drifts off

 

To slumber

 

Soon, her soft breathing

 

Will resemble that of


 

 A lumberjack

 

Revealing the fact

 

That she has come home drunk

 

Once again.

Alcoholics can rebound and live a good life and be on the right track. This poem touches my soul and is a good write.

very very sad and filled with emotions
With a alcoholic problem written from the heart
Sad ending excellent imagery and flow
