Some Winter Thoughts

The wind sang a hymn of praise
through the trees, as snow danced
over the leaves,glistening like
diamonds. sparkling in the face of
harsh weather, passing by, and each
snowflake had a different take on
how to form in the eye of the storm
wanting to please Creator with the
most intricate style that would cause
Him to smile on all creation!

Creator's design a wondrous make
How beautiful the trees they decorate
The many picture postcards they create
The fascination of a  pristine snowfall
Joyful memories of when we're small
Snowball fights, sleigh rides,  snowmen
Gleeful times of play we hope never ends
Hot chocolate,and toddies, by a cozy fire
Gathered around sharing hearts desires
Up in the mountains so close to the sky
Watching colorful skiers as they fly by
Coming home to smell fresh baked bread
With all the other goodies, goes to our head
A few of the many wonders so much a part
Of why the winter season lives in our hearts

In answer to Janet's comment. I live in northern California, and it's 65% right now and raining hard. That rain is snow in the higher elevations about an hour away at donner pass and higher at Lake Tahoe, where I often go, the snow is incredibly beautiful in the mountains on those huge trees. Unlike the snow that lasts until spring back East where I came from, as George mentioned. up until today our weather has been in the seventies, and bright sun. That's why I moved to California;-) But I love to visit the snow, in the mountains ,during the holiday's!
