Funny, it is only during this past year that I have taken the time to stand outside of an evening and absorb the wonders of the night sky and how it changes through the days and weeks. But, I have to say, it is JUST this very arena where I can feel SUCH a shot of divine light, and such an awesome wonder, for some reason... like seeing the face of God through a screen of pinpricks. I sometimes wonder what it was like for the shepherds in the fields when they saw the bright star that night. Your poem brings to mind that awesome feeling.
I love waking up at dawn to the Goddess's Creation. I see the interdependency of the cosmos and all of its different species and resources. The universal life energy binds everything together in the cosmic whole, the rhyme and reason of my way at looking at it, the oneness of Nature and its accent on freedom of belief and religious (spiritual) practice. Thanks for your vision, Eileen.

Exceptional is what I say about this heah sonnet. I like the rhyme, the premise, and of course its well-written message. Christmas. Bring it back. I walk through the mall here in my little town this morning and did not find one sigh ANYWHERE that said Christmas. This has to stop.
