I have never ever seen storms like the one I witnessed in Texas last summer...now thats what I call hell on earth !

I love watching storms; they truly are powerfully thought provoking, and they truly display the immense force of Mother Nature. And when they finally pass, I also love watching for that inevitable rainbow behind them.

I think you submerged yourself within the storm and drew from it. That third stanza seems out of place somehow, like part of another poem which premise is a bad experience in your life. Out of place compared to the rest of the poem, but actually only a minor blip so.

The American weather is exciting.. Never had seen thunder and lightning simultaneously, thought that was a movie gimmick...
But nope, plus seeing lightning bounce of the earth, was awesome and humbling..

I used to enjoy those rainstorms in California; they were rare and often a relief. Here in the Midwest they can often be deadly. I'm with Dawn: Glad you got to play and enjoy!

sounds like a rough one, but beautiful and magnificent, too. it just occurred to me, reading this, that some of my unhappiness with winter in GA is the absence of true thunderstorms (or at least many with more than cold, steady rain)... glad you got to play a little or be played :)
