Our throats can bark for slaughter
But cannot sing...C S Lewis

On Ravens wings
Top snowy clouds
My senses sing
With joy out loud
How blessed am I
To be so high
That I can touch
The rim of sky

Below I  see
A different  view
Curses rise angrily
Floating in  air
How sad am I
That I can hear
Such distress
From people there

I wonder does it
Reach His ears
The same way
As do our prayers
I doubt he lets enter
Our vile verbiage
Pure light centers
Don't take garbage

Raven's wisdom speaks
Offers a feather
Only one side sleek
Other puffed for weather
Lessons of love
Come in many styles
From pure white Doves
To black Ravens wiles

Creator most precious
Thank you for Jesus!

I think he always hears the cries and listens and in his timing he settles the cries. If man will only learn to trust in his time and turn those to pure prayers this is so inspiring and beautiful.
Prayers for speedy recovery.

Of all the birds, the ravens and common crows intrigue me the most. They are so smart. I used to live on a busy street in Los Angeles. There were tons of crows so I would feed them nuts, seeds, dried fruit, suet and fat. Of course, they would squawk at me when they wanted to be fed, sometimes at the craziest of hours or sit on my window sill staring at me, and tap on the glass while I was eating. Soooooo to get even, I started putting out brazil nuts which are difficult to crack even with a nut cracker. First they tried picking at them, then picking them up and dropping them from hights, still no cracking the shells. Then they did something that surprised me; they stood on my fence studying the traffic then set the nuts in the street where the cars would run over them and crush them...then in between traffic flows would swoop out and eat the crushed nut from the pavement. There seems to be so much darkness associated with ravens, but to me, they are perhaps one of the most adaptive and wise breeds of bird. They create their own freedom and they adapt to their surroundings...we could learn a lot from them. Beautiful poem, Eileen. Sorry to take up so much space telling you my story, but you opened the door...LOL. I will keep you in my prayers and hope that you will be feeling better soon.
Take care,
Sherry
