the fog is lifting
she's going through her day
but she isn't in it

somewhere a bird sings
someone is born
someone dies

pain is all consuming
to the point
she stopped acknowledging it

her real thoughts now
random useless inane
mostly flatline

while her dreams
under her control
are plentiful and pleasant

soon she knows
her dreams will become
her reality

she knows
she will die with winter
be reborn in spring

A lot of pure sadness within this poem, only too give us hope at the end with the blooming of life.

This made me feel sad.You can always touch me with your lovely sad and beautifully deep words.Winter is cold so no wonder some folk snuggle up in warm dreams, seems the sensible thing to do.Good poems are flowers so reading yours makes it springtime all year even when your write is of winter.Warm hugs, best wishes and lots of love

kay.

It won't be long until we experience spring manifestations, already we have daffodils showing here, which is indicative of radical climate change !
Your poem suggests a long hard and gruelling period of physical and spiritual comabt within a person, as such renewal springs forth from our own hidden energies and latent faith in the Almighty !
He alone has the refreshing waters of rebirth and regeneration, whch gives new life and vigour to those whose trust is in him Eileen!

I like the conclusion here. For me, Spring is always a time of personal renewal and rebirth. Very nice piece, Eileen.

Tami

A climate-controlled poem! This reminds me of a near-death experience where one comes in and out of a dream, where lucidity seals the dreamer's fate. A very cyclic poem, Eileen!
