Poem Artwork

Drawn to the beacon of light
But can't dispel the darkness
It fights to stay deep within

Best she can do is wade in and out
A surrealistic shadow following itself
Through all the hues of day and night

Never fully partaking of either
An ephemeral figure like a night moth
Touching down here and there

Still knowing the ever present lighthouse
Is there to lead all to safety in a storm
Keeps fears at bay and hope in the heart

Along with the knowledge that always near
Is the everlasting unconditional love of
The light itself that sustains all other lights

Even in the darkness, so she wondrously
Wades her way through weather fair or fog
As she makes sure the light is ever before her

I find this symbolic and meaningful, Eileen. It also reminds me of the song "The Moth" by Aimee Mann. Thank you for sharing this gift. Love and peace to you,

Regis

Duality appears in the poet's flight of imagination and in the inspired work of artists, in the visions of saints and prophets. Thinking in beacons illuminates the universal astral field. The interplay of the beacon with the shadowed part is synonymous with the rise and the fall of the wave, the continuity of life force. together, light and dark, constitute equilibrium and harmony. Like A Night Moth is a tai-chi write--->movement--stillnes--->motion--rest--->tangible--intangible--->light--dark--->firm--soft--->outside--inside--->inhalation--exhalation--->float--settle--->rise---sink--->right--left--->backward--forward--->open--closed--->solid--empty (void).

This is beautiful. Your words are as fluid as this beacon for hope. I agree with Carmen. I admire more the positive poems. Your poem is one to cherish for read after read. This is a classic.

Quite a captivating write, Tiger Lily - and your light shines as always.

An exemplary write on the dual nature of human consciousness and the spiritual need to transcend that same duality.

"A surrealistic shadow following itself": if I were in my thief mode today I would have to steal that line:-)

In the Whirlwind by Tichaona Chinyelu

In the Whirlwind is a poetic storm that frees history from the cages of corruption and puts it in the hands of everyday people. Words are weaved into a new fashion statement that has nothing to do with runways but everything to do with projects!
