Poem Artwork

I was pruning my spring garden
only to find
All the lovely flowers had their
own mind

They chose one to speak it was
a lovely Daffodil
She told me it wouldn't be long
til everything was nil

Therefore I shouldn't plant any
more seed
They would all soon be destroyed
 what was the need

All the other blooms then nodded
in agreement
as a Robin redbreast came to add his
sentiment

He chirpped with eloquence as he said
"my grave will soon be in this flower bed" He went on to say, man has finally admitted defeat

All they have learned is how to wage war  and to repeat it though Creator has given them the tools with which to recreate

The whole worlds attitude continues to
turn  only to hate I told them I understood and felt very sad about mankind

Yet, Creator didn't tell us to quit but
to have faith in what is in His mind....

Imagine trying to keep a garden in Baghdad. The cost of war is too great except to the wildflowers who bloom anyway.

Excellent write. However, it seems that the world is, even little by little, turning more to love and care. Of course, this is hopeless optimistics talking...

death & destruction are the very tools needed to promote their own demise ...as humanity continues to experience their onslaught, eventaully it will begin to evolve beyond them by the mere abhorrence of their actions ...

I find myself feeling this way more and more these days; and I sadly wonder how soon all of us will experience - our last garden.

But wonderful news about George, Tiger Lily!

Thanks for the news about George, Eileen and thank you for this beautiful poem that reminds us that the future is not for us to decide and that we should live each day in the light that is provided, searching for the beauty instead of being blindsided by the ugliness.
Take care,
Sherry

Eileen,
I think we should listen to God's creatures more often. Humans seem to have a real problem with learning the most important lessons in life. We've somehow come to the point of 'we'll do it our way or no way', and I just can't help but believe that one day we are going to look around and it's going to be the 'no way' factor.
I always enjoy your work Eileen!

Ah Eileen, I fear that someday what your lovely garden speaks of may come true, this is so perfectly expressed.

You see here! Nature is using your Muse as a conduit to get the message out. She does me the same way. Mother Nature is silent until we give her a voice. You did so in a very tender way.

You have a keen psychic and intuitive side to you...
All the signs and pointers are indicating a shortage of time left now...:)
The picture is amazing, and dovetails with the poem perfectly
