Journal entry Friday 6-9-06 5:55 a.m.

I awoke this morning hearing the noise
of construction going on in the neighborhood
Still I can hear the birds chirping their messages
Funny how incessant they are as they become
background sounds we have learned to relegate
to a lesser ear.  I think of the many sounds we do
that with,it's a wonder we can think at all.

I couldn't help enlarge on this theme since
I realized I was listening to my radio, hearing
the outside sounds, and writing in my journal.
Awesome how we take for granted our ability
to multi-task, while we absorb things around us
A dog barking, a cat meowing, all just part of the
life sounds we have accustomed ourselves to.

It is bright and sunny at 6:00 am and I'm ready
to get up and out this morning with my friend.
I didn't make an entry last night, I was too tired.
I'm remembering a conversation I had about
the negativity in every facet of life these days.
It seems so different by light of day. We allow
too much of the worlds problems to creep into
our psyche, keep us stressed. Off with the TV!

Getting out of bed, enough journaling! There's
a body yearning for a shower, and an empty
stomach waiting to be fed. Not to mention, the
many matters awaiting my attention.  On second
thought I should go back to sleep for another
half hour at least~~~Yawn~~~~

What a charmingly comfortable write Eileen...I love morning and the things that go through my mind when waking up...I've never journaled my thoughts except in poetry...so I'd best keep a journal by my bed from now on...sure beats running for one when the words hit. Ahh the luxury of that extra half-hour...
Just so easy to identify with...

I loved reading this, Eileen because I felt that I was right there with you. Getting a peep into your daily routine. We have been thinking along the same lines. For about a month, Ed and I have been sleeping on our large screened in "cabin." I have become so much more aware of the beautiful bird sounds. I sit there up in the trees and wonder why I never heard them before. They are delightful little creatures. I heard one say, "video" over and over :>)

Eileen, it appears to me that you did write in your journal, except you did it in poetical form and shared it with the whole world. And, by the way, that ain't a bad thing. Maybe you should do it more often. Yeah, confide in us, tell us your innermost secrets and fears and . . . Whoops! Maybe that isn't such a good idea. Loved this one though. Sometimes just a few lines about mundane things are interesting. Haven't heard about the challenge.

Eileen,

Such realism in your entry; well done! I actually slept in this morning, after years of getting up around six AM, I slept in until 8:OO! Shocking!! LOL But, oh, do I feel rested.

(((HUGS))) and love, Karla.

I'm with Linda below on this excellent response to her challenge...
It is indeed a privilege and honor to partake in your journal, and you give us a close up view of a day in the life...
It leaves you with that unsatisfied feeling, you wish there was more Eileen !

Oh Eileen, much wisdom to be gleaned from these entries! So true that we allow too many of the world's problems to intrude on our psyches. Negativity? Amen to that! Many references to sound, here. But that's to be expected as you're a musician. You know, you would have made a very fine music therapist, I think, due to your sensitivity to sound and vibration and insight into human nature. Thank you for responding to the challenge. It's a priviledge to read your journal...

Love, Lin
