I powder my face with inscrutibility

My lipstick color  is reticent

I Wear ambiguity for a coat

A matching hat of mystery

My purse conceals much

I wear secretive stockings

I walk on clandestine shoes

My language is esoteric

I write with a paradoxical pen

Using the ink of disguise

My words are metaphorical

My thoughts remain hidden

My mind a cryptic labyrinth

I live in mystic realms

My name is poet...

You very well described the nature of a poet. This poem is a mirror every poet should look at imself/herself. GBQ

This is a cryptic pen Eileen and one that has us all seeing ourselves here and there. With you and I...there's very little guessing within one another...we already know the codes.
Great poetry.

Eileen

Full of supernatural promise and intrigue..

You are indeed an adroit and masterly writer, whose work is easy on the eye, and sits well with the imagination and logic..

No one is your peer, and you distribute your labors with professional expertise and precision

Love and Light

You set up this excellent poem as proof that you are indeed a poet, and as I read line after line, I have to concur that you knew whereof you spoke.

OOOOOOOOOOOOOO YES!!! :)) You certainly have struck gold with this one, Eileen, and guess we are all masters of mystique and mystery in our unique and individual ways... but this is sooooooooooooo up my street... or underneath me lamppost, in fact! :)) Scuse me while I just straighten my seams and check the rearview in my powder compact. I love this kinda drama - reminds me of my Homo Poetici as well. Ah me... so very nearly got to see Johnny Depp in Pirates of the Caribbean 2 this afternoon as well! But this is almost as good as... lead on Lily M... you have secrets to unearth and intrigue to discover. Excellent cryptic critique. Reads like a riddle. Superbe, TY Kate xx

HALLELUJAH POET!

It's a good thing that you're not alone, that's a bloody fact! I had to chuckle at: "my mind a cryptic labyrinth" Can I ever relate to that, especially the way I write 60% of the time.

It is the gold mine, and the bane of a poet!

Loved this!
