Is  it enough to be swept away
by dreams and visions of poetic
intensity

To have it  enmeshed and wrapped
in every sinew of thought immersed
in the blood, like corpuscles

To have ones words imprinted in every
cell you possess, until you can't have a
thought of your own

Is it enough to dwell within the mind of
another without ever truly knowing the
heart and soul

Does living the word suffice  to cover all other aspects, isn't some further action necessary to maintain balance

Does the heart of the poet truly live or is it a delusion that hides behind the
eloquent words

Is it finding  solace in living words while
escaping into the dream of what one
can't attain in reality

I ask myself "what are you doing poet,
are you giving life to the word , or are you letting the word take your life, or are they one and the same?"

Poetic beauty,
"To have ones words imprinted in every
cell you possess, until you can't have a
thought of your own"
Poets allow us to live and see.

I enjoyed this, ET!! Eternal questions for those who think, instead of merely being. If you ever figure it out, enlighten me!! (:D

What? What! A discombobulated poet our minx has become? Fortunately, I know she will shake clear of this confusion...she will...she will!!
Your frustration for expression does come clear in this poem :o)

Powerful stuff here, Eileen. Very well written! Excellent questions raised, and I've answered 'yes' to most of them (smiling). We poets are indeed a very rare breed ...
Hugs and respect,

Non-writers and poets look at the sometimes strange person who sits alone, crafting their words for other wordsmiths to mull and ponder, like we are another species which have developed with the intensity of a puppy to have their head petted. I feel that they may be more right than wrong.

is a fine work of art.

Our minx is all mixed up. Her flights of fancy are getting her into trouble. Not that we should worry too much, she has a habit of stabilizing herself. Carry on poet, you're doing fine ;-). Victor
