Poem Artwork

Eternal sea riddled with mystery
infinite possibilities swim around
in vast oceans of unknown species
with  undiscovered wealth
in hidden caves never entered
nothing fascinates me more

As I listen to the pounding surf
a  haze,a sort of  bluish vapor
surrounds me, and the sand
seems to curve like the waves
upon windswept shores as shells
sights, and smells of seas, rife
with waters, so full of life
and crags holding creatures of
all kinds, it blows the mind.

Yet, here I sit alone on the beach
and not another soul in reach
being here in broad daylight
without another person in sight
with all that life in the ocean
it's an amazing notion.... isn't it?

Solitude by the sea...can't think of a comparable place to let our imaginations flow freely! Enchantment in all the visions you give us, Eileen.

Mind if I sit a spell with you?

you are such a thinker, Eileen! I love it when you manage to combine amazing images with deep, sincere thoughts as you have done here. I haven't been to the ocean in years, but have been on quite a sea kick lately in my dreams and poetry -- it's nice to read somebody else's work who's probably actually been there lately. :) Dawn

Eileen, what a tremendous sense of peace and curiosity your work provokes..

So many God-given treasures, and your poetry is definitely among them.

I have often sat on a beach wondering about the 95% below the waves left unviewed. Enjoyed

A week ago I was sitting on a rock in the Mogadishu beach watching the sea and admiring its beauty and all the creatures living therein. Marvelous poem. God bless you queen

To stand alone in a crowd can be a very painful thing. Yet it can also be a very liberating thing as well. As it means never being tied down. Being able to move freely. And to go places for reasons of your own. Enjoy the freedom while you can...

Yes it is, and you've captured the enchantment well. I often think about all the life we've yet to discover right below our oceans. ~~Nordette

Yes indeed, Eileen; the sea seems to have a life (to be an entity) all of its own. This is a lovely ode to it. Thank you for sharing it. Love and peace to you,

The sea is amazing, and you showed how its vastness really blows the mind, the minuteness of us in comparison, good stuff.

Hmmm, excellent.
Makes me feel home sick.
But then again the vast mystry, power and perseverance of the ocean always does

Eileen ...

It's the best times in life - hunkering down by ones self, or with the one you love, on a desolate beach. A tactile write.

Sometimes it's the contradictions in life that bring the reality into perspective.

Beautiful, simply lovely Eileen. The music is perfect for this poem -- just listening to it, I can shut my eyes and see the sea.
Well done, my friend.

The magnetic lure and pull of the restless sea is irresistable
to those who are spiritually and mentally attuned..

You convey a warm sense of knowing and understanding in this sensitive write

Superb graphic to accompany the poem..

Superb. I love England cos you can never be more than 70 miles from the sea. And we call that part landlocked.. Not sure your mid west would agree..
I wish we would spend less on space and more on understanding what lurks beneath...

Now I was behind a rock and saw you in a brown study, meditating on the shoreline and the sea. But I did not distrub you. Who would want to awake a minx? Your brown study brought on a most beautiful poem. Victor

In the Whirlwind by Tichaona Chinyelu

In the Whirlwind is a poetic storm that frees history from the cages of corruption and puts it in the hands of everyday people. Words are weaved into a new fashion statement that has nothing to do with runways but everything to do with projects!
