Poem Artwork

The morning seeps blood
over new feathers of white
I lie dreaming in down quilt
eyes bloodshot in daylight
refusal to face reality or guilt
of what happens in the night
when the moon makes assault
I must come out of my vault
I struggle to see the dawn
I lust for a look at the sunrise
though my soul is bequeathed
I still have control of my eyes
O wretched world of rules
with man made laws of rights
that has no sense of varied life
no compassion in their sights
there will come a day soon
i'll have my day in the sun
though I belong to the moon

Aye, me lassie, the moon, she urges us and she controls us, methinks the moon is a little slutty . . . AND THAT IS GOOD.

Very intriguing, Eileen! This poem has a most tauntingly, teasing affect on me! lol! I like! I like -- both poem and picture!

This reminded me of a film I saw, where the main character had been cursed by an evil warlock to live as a wolf during the night, only to transform into a man at sunrise every day. His true love had also been cursed to live as an owl during the day. Tortuously they could only see a brief glimpse of each other in that moment between night turning to day and vice versa....triggered I think by ...'i'll have my day in the sun, though I belong to the moon.' Vivid desire of inner torment caught so superbly here Minx. Wonderful thought process, Love Imp x

The transition from dark to LIGHT is always invigorating and elevates the soul in ways unfathomable. To me, this introspective write seethes of unrequited yearnings.
