only a small voice
in a vast void
in depth of soul
never to be seen
hides a sad role
of in between
neither here nor there

straddling a fence
falling on derriere
losing all sense
direction unclear
mentally dense
life stuck in low gear

fighting to get out
having to crawl
wanting to shout
can't help but bawl
but peace of spirit
overcomes all

Yes, indeed. Peace of spirit does overcome all. Folks spend a lifetime looking for it, and it begins inside. Good lesson you give.

Tis a rough road re-learning how to walk again, just keep taking baby steps as each step forward is worthy of 3 steps back...Rufuz needs walking daily, maybe you could move here...think of the exercise...happy to see you back...Ed & rufuz

Peace of Spirit does most certainly overcome the restlessness in our souls at such times, if we have the ability to embrace it. But I know just how difficult this can be for those of us who can never just "rest and be". Although there is always so much you desire to accomplish, both for yourself and for others, I know that you have truly learned the discipline of "waiting on the Lord" and, as Victor says (sort of!), He will mend your wings to fly again for certain sure, and, in the meantime, you will be carried on his pinions and sheltered beneath His wings. AND you will be further learning heaps of good things which will be a blessing for you to share, I am sure. Progress may feel slow, but I am sure it is safe and assured as you turn your gaze upon Him. Exemplary poetry as ever though, Eileen, with no allowances made for illness! :)) The tone and clipped phrasing is a tangible marker of the sense of effort and struggle. These times can almost be like entering into the vulnerability of Jesus who offered Himself as a Babe. Go placidly and sorrounded by Light and Grace. You will be an encouragement to all around you, I am sure. And may 2007 be a great year of both purpose and fulfillment for you. LOL K xx

Come on, my minx. Don't give up. just a step a day and soon you'll be running like the minx you are. It takes time. I know well enough. But it can be done. Last year this time I could not lift my arm. Today I can lend it to you for support. Victor

When we look to him we find a peace which passeth all understanding. In Rehab at work they bawl too and they crawl and the strong ones of spirit stand and walk again. Hope you are moving along better soon and feeling your old self again. Yet thankful I am sure you will be. This is very good Eileen.

Blessings and prayers

There are many things in life that smack us hard and knock us down. It takes faith, strength of will and dicipline to get us back on our feet and moving in a forward motion. Our ability to move forward is often in baby-steps, but at least we are heading in the right direction. I wish you an excellent recovery, Eileen; be patient with yourself, do whatever you need to do, take your time and conserve your energy, giving your body a chance to heal. You might even consider calling Meals-on-Wheels to have hot and healthy meals delivered to your door, as I am sure that cooking for yourself is an impossibility at this point. Great to see that your head is clear enough to write and that you are finding the strength to get to your computer, occasionally, to post. I have been holding off on sending you any e-mail as I am certain your mailbox is stuffed due to your month away. Let me know when it is ok to send again.
Take care,
Sherry

Eileen,

You and I are both learning to crawl; we are both recovering, and we both have to learn to take it one step at a time. Don't despair; God will get you through this rough patch in your life. You are in my prayers, dear heart; take care and know I love you! I don't like it any better than you do, but we are on the mend, and that is what is important. Remember that each day that goes by it gets easier and easier; I know it is for me. It will for you too!

Eileen,

God uses the weak to confound the wise, the strong; keep the faith, I believe you'll make it. You've done it before, and with Creator's help, you'll make it again.

An inspiring, beautiful verse written from the depths of a courageous soul. Well done, my friend!

(((HUGS))), love and prayer, and a healthy, HAPPY New Year! Karla.
