I used Michael Vic,as an example since he's so prominent in the news. This kind of thing is happening all over, our society has become inured to cruelty and violence,of all kinds...

Why do so many humans seek violence To me it doesn't make any sense No matter the color ,race, or creed It seems to fill in them some need
It matters not whether rich or poor To fulfill thrills they'll open any door What is the seed sown in a human That causes them to become inhuman
A man of fame, wealth,and talent His cruelty is anything but gallant Breeding dogs so they can fight Treating them in ways that isn't right
With need for greed, thrills and might Humankind to this world is a blight We need to study what it is within Which makes us a race that loves to sin A race, that with such traits can't win!
Man is naturally violent. In the past, violence determined survival. It is still used, subtly to control us. Football is a violent sport. It's practicioners are more violent than most.

I totally agree. IN what ylu wrote my main focas to help stop is dog fighting. All you wrote is really true.
Good statement, and as far as I'm concerned "greed and thrills" as become a basis for abuse both human and animal (not to mention as Mr. Ed does, the wildlands being torn up by this adminisration and the "shooting of wolves" But then, I'm radical "pro animal rights"

they kill the dogs
What as this world coming to next

Everybody wrestles with sin.
The worst thing we can do is stop wrestling
and let it control us.
I agree Richard. Without the spirit we can't know the things of the Spirit. Yet, humanity; Parents educators etc, have a duty to raise our children with standards that would give them a better understanding of how to seek after more noble goals than the thrills that evil affords. All can't teach religion, but there at least can be standards based on trust, goodness, kindness, etc and the traits that can lead us to a better way of life. That has to be instilled in children from birth, and it is sorely lacking in today's society!
It's the sin nature!
Sadly I think that every human alive is capable of gross acts of violence (because of this nature), especially if the right button is pushed. Some of the most gallant men in history were the most violent in their quest for power and domination. There is a predatory need in all humans to conquer, attain and succeed; sometimes at all costs. The only power that opens our eyes to this is the in-dwelling Holy Spirit. Humans without the Holy Spirit don't know the difference.

Perfect! Loved this ride in truth. Personally, I think the government giving to those who don't deserve and forgetting about those of us who put money in their pockets has led to not caring about anything any more. What's the point. You take a step forward and they knock you back to pre-historic times. Even, I get so tired of doing the right thing, when all the wrong things seem to be held up in high esteem. Loved the poem, and Vick should spend the next five years in prison. But first I would like for them to lock him in a 5 x 5 cell with a pack Pitbulls, after they superglue a t-bone steak to his throat. Not a happy thought I know, but it would be a form of justice.

Years ago, a kind man shared these words with me. "Only the truly strong can be truly gentle." It seems as though we fall into the practice of thinking that behaving cruelly and violently indicates strength. But, in my opinion, helping the sick and protecting others indicates strength. I'm so mad when I heard the news!!!! It was totally cruelty abd unacceptable. I also heard that the dogs are being electrocuted to death when they are old and cannot fight. This is animal cruelty. I hope they will prosecute him and put him in jail for a long time.

As it says in the Bible, the love of many will wax cold. We're seeing it now, in the mememe culture, the apathetic don't give a rip attitude. Sad. Keep standing up for goodness, for Truth: I'm right there with ya. :) Excellent poem, BTW.
It doesn't make any sense, but I personally believe that we went downhill when prayer was taken out of the schools and discipline was taken out of the homes. Now we are paying for it. God help us!
