Writers Block

I wrote this for a friend who
said they have writers block
fortunately I've never experienced it;-)

Come now you white sands of time
I'm grasping for the poets rhyme
And your laying around on the beach
Playing with whatever is in your reach

I'm stuck in the crimson colors of wine
As the fish and fowl proceed to dine
While sumptously sharing a free feast
I'm struggling with the writers beast

Whoever heard of such a pickle
How can a muse be so darn fickle
Somtimes acting like a whore
Going wherever it can to score

I think I've got just the right notion
I'll cast my thoughts upon the ocean
Then when they are returned to me
I'll have the perfect poem, you'll see.

We have all written this one. You are write on. The perfect poem cannot be summoned up. There must be inspiration, combined with writing skill, or it is just poetizing.

To spin a tale of the dreaded poet's drought. When the words just refuse to come out. For sure,I know what that feeling is all about. E T, thanks for the spin of a great tale. Jon Michael Willey

Writer's Block is like: "...sitting on a rock with dangling legs waggling our toes just an inch deep in the cold sea water..."

Thanks Eileen. It's not so much writers block as needing time to recharge, plus the fact life is life, thinking about it takes up most my energy.

perhaps not to think of it as blocked, but rather a pause in space, then a surrender, something always fills the void

YES, YES... the only way to block the block is to keep writing and often I find that it is when I absolutely SWEAR I will never write another darn thing that the best things come to me. "Do it anyway" is the writer's motto, I think... whatever comes of it, you can be sure it will be meaningful to someone. You always conjure a feast from our disasters, Eileen! Gourmet as per u. K xx

If I wrote everything that pops into my head...
well it would be amazing lol...ah writers block!
Eileen I don't struggle with that so much as
I do with just feeling good about what I write. ;)
My muse laughs at me all the time... LOL

one thing i have to say is this, a poet is pretty meuch married to those muses. nagging, always getting their way, and so forth. very well done. i like it.

Sauced again, some people have to go to AA, and others to WB, the twelfe steps might be similar, I have no problem with either, just that block that's sitting on my shoulders, and the short neck leading to it, yeah, that's blocked solid most of the time. I love the way you curly all around that, very intriquing Eileen, Love and Blessings! Jasmin Horst

There is no such thing as writer's block, there is, however, such a thing as laziness . . . When writer's the non-existant writer's block seizes you, it is an easy problem to solve . . . Just write. It doesn't matter what or how well or awful the writing is . . . Because it will lead you to ideas and with ideas you are back on track . . . Cute poem, Eilen . . .

I had writer's block so briefly I hardly remember it, and it was during a book I eventually gave up on, so it was just as well.
Sooooo funny a look at writer's block, though, you gave us in this poem.

I hate that writer's block, Eileen; but lately, that's something that's not happened to me (thank GOD!). Very well penned; brava!

ROFLMSAO!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Yep, that's how it is, Sweetie. Sometimes (like you) I wish I could have "writer's block." Imagine the pure bliss of seeing "something" and not feeling driven to write about it! Maybe I will die someday and experience such bliss. Probably not. Someone will probably bury my laptop with me, and connect an electric cable to my tomb, and I will be down there (typing) through all eternity. Dang!
