Birthdays come and go
as do shadows
life in its ebb and flow
sometimes rainbows
The lonely days of sad
happily end
with only days of glad
to make us mend
as years show us grow old
with signs of age
feeling more of winters cold
yet less of rage
we've begun to understand
for our voices sake
we can enter the promised land
that our choices make
It's always more pleasant to look at the rainbow - which you've given us in many of your poems - and step out of shadows. You've always been able to find the sunnier side with your faith, Eileen...and you do again, with aging...errrrr...can we refer to that as Maturing! :o)

With age, comes understanding, acceptance, and growth. We are always much wiser in older age than we were in our youth. I look back and laugh at some of the decisions I made, as recent as 5 years ago.
I hope you had a wonderful birthday! This poem is packed with truth.
Dear ET you can have all my birthdays and made a picket fence around your garden with them, as it is...the picket fence are made of all your friends singing Happy Birthday to You....
