Will read more later! Thank you all for thoughts and prayers, and your compassionate hearts!I've missed you!;)

She lay there relaxed
with wet eye pads
soothing her sore eyes

thoughts tumbling in her mind
like little specs of light with
words attached to them

grinning she wondered if they
would fall into verses of poetry
then thought, how sad it would be
if she couldn't read them

Thankful she still had her sight
it gave her quite a fright
to think of losing it

She prayed for all blind people
having a renewed sympathy
for all who had to live without
eyesight,giving thanks for the
blessing of imagination

I loved the easy flow of this and the second and third stanzas made me smile...and then sigh, with a sense of gratitude for the blessing of good eyesight.
Rest well and dream of more poetry. :~)

I have known a woman here that has been blind since she was in her early fifties. She suffered from a rare disease that gradually left her completely blind. She is now eighty four...and she never complains, and the things that she can do, as well as her humour, are amazing. Your poem brought her to mind. Beautiful writing, Eileen. Hope you are feeling better! Your words have been missed!

God bless you sweet lady for your strength and inner perseverence. You are right though, it is not fun being blind, at times it can be very frustrating and then people around you do not understand why you get so upset. Have missed you very much.....

Be always safe,
Karen

We count our blessings, and your blessings, too, Eileen. Rest the eyes, dear friend; what you do now may make a difference. We will always be waiting to read your beautiful messages here, if later than sooner, so be it.

Eileen, how beautiful when one can get back his or her sense. We realize the beauty of life only when we enconter a situation when one of them is impaired. Lovely poem and God Bless you my friend. Emile

It is a shame Eileen that we take all for granted until we don't have it anymore, you take care and don't let this happen to you dear. We would prefer to wait for you than to lose you. Thank you for sharing.
