Lost in a  militaristic world
where violence replaces peace
and humanity is ever warring
the soul seeks solace

Lost in an ambiguous world
where confusion reigns,and
sham has become acceptable
the heart seeks honesty

Lost in an unethical world
languishing from lack of love
in a mindless morass of
lustful immmorality
the spirit seeks temperance

Lost in a world of natural beauty
where we are free to partake
yet humanity has chosen to destroy
what was  freely given by grace
the befuddled mind, asks why?

Lost...

I do hope this poem be read by the majority of the world. Eileen, I sit and ponder the changes of this world. The violence, the war, the sacrilige of vows between woman and man. I haste to express a darkness in store for many ahead. This poem give an awakening...

I know just where you're coming from with this one ET. It is a sad, sad world we live in today. Why indeed. Too much stupidy and greed today and not nearly enough love and common sense. Very well said. God bless you my friend.

I would always first ask myself, why am I doing this, for what reason, do I have a right to destroy just a tiny bit of Gods great creation, or is it better after I have done so, asking why is alright, but listening for the answers is what is needed.

Interesting progression ... militaristic, ambiguous, unethical, natural beauty. Three of mans design, and one of Gods. Apparently, now, they are saying the North Pole will be melted by September. What a garden man is reaping from all the machinations of his arrogance.

A right on write ...

I think we've all been asking ourselves this question more now than ever before. Well written, expressed well and captivating my friend...Your words ring with power, it's sad but true as we look around at the world today!

I've sadly concluded that we are all truly Lost now, and I see very little hope for the future. But was it our pre-determined destiny, or could we have changed things with free will and determination? That I do not know. But whatever the dismal future brings, I do believe our time on this Earth will be called The Age of Apathy.

I suppose we have to admit we're lost before we can be found.
Very, very touching Eileen and after reading, I found myself soul-searching and wondering. Then back to drifting. . . . .why. . . why ...why me. In time I'll see.

I am a person who believes everything has an answer and everything happens for a reason...it's just that we may not know the answers when we want to know them, and it all evolves with time. You have written this beautifully, Allen, always making the reader stop to think.

Eileen,

We're all asking "Why" - we both know much of this was foretold thousands of years ago - the love of many will wax cold in the last days - believe it - we're seeing it now, the apathy, the I don't give a rip except about myself attitudes - God forgive us, have mercy - an excellent pen from a soul crying out - WHY???

(((HUGS))) and love, Karla.

Hope you're feeling better - you're on our church prayer list :)

You are asking Why also..(about a different subject of course) Are there any clear cut answers to any question of Why? I begin to dig deeply and try to figure out why some things are the way they are, and you know the same answer keeps coming back to me, and that is "It is the way that it is, because it is suppose to be this way" There is a bigger picture than our own little world, but we are an intricate facet of that bigger picture. We will know one day, and then we will say okay that was Why!
Much peace, love, and light,
Amber "V"
