Poem Artwork

This morning as fog surrounded me
i felt enveloped within a kind of cocoon
surreal activities invaded my senses
those shrouded shapes that i see, usually
familiar to me, are now indefinable

In a strange way i feel at peace in my
eerie realm, i escape from the reality
of sight into the solitude of shadow
i let my mind define what it wants to
using my imagination

I snuggle into my sweater as a damp chill
comes over me~i join in the atmosphere like
a vapor ~immersed in the mist i realize i'm
enjoying the mood of mystery, content for
it to last a while longer

ephemeral or not, we live in many places in our minds throughout the course of any given day -- some tranquil and some not -- you've summed it up extremely well Eileen -- peace and love to you my friend -- JMW

No "ephemeral thoughts" here, but just a bouquet of intriguing ones.

Eileen,
This is a fine setting for your thoughts and the zones we inhabit...from stark bright reality to shade to almost total darkness are well evoked.

I agree with Rebecca this is another of your fantasies that carries the reader along with you in that wet mist and is a delight to read and be mystified by your talent.

Eileen, this is truly a master piece. I wonder if you didn't capitalized 'I' for a reason. You sound here as if you were a mere image of your surroundings. That's why 'I' didn't need to be in caps, right?
Loved it!!

you set the scene well, Eileen, envelopping the reader also with the contentment and ease of permeating mystery. Some of us are happy to inhabit twilight, others need full sun or shade. For me too, it's the gloaming that allows my overactive mind to have free range. Nice easy flow and tone to this and embracing of life's enquiry. xx

Would like to read your poem.
Regrettably the ink's so pale, my old eyes can't decipher it...
Or is it the fog?

What a delightful write Eileen, and the foggy font made it exception. Really felt I was right there with you in the fog. Love and hugs,Bonnie
