Facing the New Year with truth and hope

In the mist of memory appears
the golden intricate web of years
that haunt the telepathic thoughts
where secret scenarios  get caught
now is the time to bring to light
what you had hidden in the night
the kaleidescope of various deeds
where your wants versus your needs

The scene is set for full exposure
reality  seeks the path to closure
no longer do you have the choice
remaining silent with your voice
heartache, lost love, come to the fore
you see their truths as never before
now  time has come for you to see
the part you played in your destiny

Your eyes can no longer remain closed
you hurt yourself more than supposed
a few others to which you imputed blame
you can see now was your own shame
we go through life with self made blinds
erecting barriers which we hide behind
only when we can face our own reality
will we be worthy to live an eternity

etw~

A very blessed happy New Year to all!;-)

... if we can't be honest with ourselves at this annual point in time, when can we be? A good way not only to face and plot a new path through the coming year, but to chart the path ahead on a daily basis. Self-honesty is the only sure-footed way to advance in life. Stay well and on course in the year ahead, Eileen. May it be one of your best ever. Thank you and bless you, Kate xx

very well versed and rhymed truth Eileen, it hurts to face up, but I can't do it no other way. My wife plays her blame game and denial shame, I tell her she lives in a fantasy world most of the time. But I also tell her if she's comfortable there then who am I to complain. I do understand this type attitude but to each their own. What I found out is that facing up has a healing effect, there's no where else to go after facing the mirror, trip ends, healing depends. Have a happy new year

the greatest reaction comes when their is a major difference between reality and expectation -- as you say, it is best to look the facts straight in the eye and say, that is the part I played -- Happy New Year -- may peace and love be always with you -- JMW

Some people are their own worst critic and others can build blinds in which they live behind not letting people into their private lives for lack of trust. Decisions in life are full of going the wrong way at times and regretting it later and sometimes not placing the blame where it should lie. Nice thought provoking write in letting each reader see for themselves, in introspect, how they react to your analysis on life.

Very profound and well written. It makes the reader really take your words and digest them a bit. I have always lived by this rule:

Acknowledge, Accept, and let go!

Using that philosophy with anything that comes your way that is negative or unquestionable, makes it easier to deal with.

Much peace, love, and light,

no longer do you have the choice,
remaining silent with your voice

I think this truly applies to so very many areas today, if we still hope to leave our children with a better tomorrow.

And Happy New Year to You, Tiger Lily.
