When a nation forgets God, kicks him out of our schools, out of our government, and as much as is posible out of our very lives. the end result is what we see happening today. Unless a change is made it will only get worse. To many people today have no qualms about how they act and what they do, they have no boundrys!

I think the finger is pointed at the wrong direction, it was the corrupt governments that has caused the global crisis and the GREED of man that has caused a domino effect of suffering: job losses, foreclosures, poverty, financial stress, worries, et al. The malignant environment therefore breeds and aggravates mental stress and illness and may cause an otherwise normal person to "snap" and kill. The proliferation of loose guns and drugs contribute to the frequency of this "snapping" so we have these tragedies. The world blames God -unfair I think.

The last lines redeemed the poem at the end and it helped soothe my

ruffled spirit at best. (Sigh)

Powerful write as i washed the breaking news
my heart Skipped a beat and my eyes began to tear
theirs no reason for all this violence
Eileen if he indeed had personal problems
There is many ways to solve them or
Could it be he was in meds and stopped taking them
But my God
Why do innocent people have to be the once to suffer
Today tears brought back so many past horrific memories
Of the many incidents that has been going on since 9-11
Painful dark sadness in through the world today
My prayers go out to all the families!!

Rational thoughts Eileen do not spring from a grieving heart, a grieving heart is at the root, if it has never learned to know others with similar problems, a hard thing to do in todays selfish societies. If they had only learned the grief a man had to suffer on the cross, they would find theirs so much the less. If they seen their loved ones hurt to the extend, that it causes so much grief in an iduvidual, that is something else, but again each induvidual has only his capacity to deal with as best as he can. It is as you said a breakdown of sorts in our world in general. Hugs!!!!!!!! for love and a wonderful needed write> Jasmin Horst.

And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold - Matthew 24:12. The answer, right there - tragic. As it was in the days of Noe were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. - Matthew 24:37. Even so, Come, Lord Jesus. Amen. Such sadness in the world today - powerfully penned, Eileen.
