Brother George,I agree with you on all the points you made,but this is precisly why I say we have to unify and stop complaining and get on with what we started out to be. All nations have similar problems

,but we are so young compared to them,and I think we have come a long way.If we put our best into it we can overcome our faults.

In the meantime I think we are a great nation,and will remain one if we don't get caught up in mocking,and demeaning ourselves,but determine to work at solving those things you mention.

Sis Tiger Lily, this Nation of our will be Great only when unanimous we get rid of War Veterans neglect, poverty, bad health care, corrupt politicians, and tell our Natives Brothers (as they did in Australia) that the treatment they got was a shame on us all by renaming "reservations" with the Nation name of their choice.
Then, and only then, we can say with pride, we are a great Nation.

We are a nation set to be tried by those who have foolishly brought us to our turning point. I read 2% of the people shape our country, engineers, inventors, social activists and even politicians, but it is time the average person stop living in their own little world and contribute to the whole. It is time the people raise their voices and put forth the effort to store our nation. A very motivating piece, well done!

Amen, Eileen, amen. Just wish they'd treat their Veterans, their poor, their disabled better ... and wish they'd stop pandering to the few who are determined to remove God from our country, who are willing to give our Nation over to sin. May He have mercy on us all! Excellent write.
