Mind Going Solo

I opened the book to read
And my mind went off on a tangent
There seemed to be nothing evident
Of what happened in my head

A mind with a will of its own
Like it was  divorced from my body
Leaving me to form my own prosody
The faculty I was using unknown

If I endeavor to explore my brain
There are always too many distractions
Methinks brain will not allow infractions
I wonder is the mind transmundane

It's more amenable to things of love
Perhaps this is a clue to gaining satisfaction
Thinking of giving of myself gains traction
Philosophy  infused from up above

I consider this  all a wonder
Curiosity insists on tackling weighty matters
Especially when my thoughts want to  scatter
Life certainly has much to ponder

The brain is a wondrous thing. And yours has a mind of its own.

You are so right, Eileen. "Life certainly has much to ponder." Some of my deepest insights have come along in those moments of distraction. As you said, "Philosophy infused from above."

The last line is great "Life certainly has much to ponder" is the thing that keeps me guessing about what is next. Excellent write!

So good poem. Mind is full of distractions, even with best book.
To think good thoughts on life, let me say, that is a book. A book with no page, yet a book with life. The best book to live. Not be unstuck with with meaningless words, only good thinking.
Poem has good rhyme, message and how life is for the thinker with depth in heart. I would bet many answers still will come, if silent and listen to heart.

Freed again to fly on your magic carpet of words and unique thoughts. Such a treat to ingest.

"I wonder is the mind transmundane" (-:
Assuredly the mind, intertwined with the heart, has a direct link with the ONE who created it. So I must answer YES! I am convinced that when we recieve our redeemed bodies that these same minds, that we use so little of now, will allow us to fly at will anywhere, at any time, in an instant.
Blessings ...

Great pen, Eileen, our minds go outside of ourselves and
it does leave us much to ponder... if only we can remember...
my mind is always going off on a tangent... ;)

Hi ET, My mind went, but I don't know if it was on a tangent, or where or what. I find myself staring at the ceiling and nothing in my head, then suddenly, zap, it's back, and left no tracks to where, when, or what. Minutes, hours maybe, lost into time.. LOL... thank you for this pondering.. life is full of curiosities....

In Spirit,
Bear

What an amazing piece. The mind sometimes walks off on its own leading us all down a new path that perhaps we would have never contemplated....
