The music entered my soul
my heart beat out of control
drums in synch with senses
I let down all my defenses
caught up in wonderment
my body writhing in consent
such rhythm can't be defined
it makes me leave my mind
every molecule feeling the
bend every beat a message I
send every nerve alert to the
sway as chant,drums  in forest
play it captures  every synapse
as my inhibitions collapse
like a whirling dervish I move
charming all  in my groove
my finale an exciting cresendo
as I slow down in a graceful flow

music has always been more of a psycho-sensual art and experience to me than purely emotional -- I believe you have captured in your poem, that belief -- very nice work Eileen - peace and love my friend -- Jon Michael

Eileen,
I really do think you've captured that loss of inhibition when people take to the dance floor. They don't care how they look, only how they feel...and the fun they have giving in to the beat. Nicely done:)

Eileen,
A forest glade, a presence, a moment of union with the music of the air, an eternal rhythm. Sheer delight.

"like a whirling dervish"
beautifully conceptualized image chum ...
An ascetic Fakeer in the throws of ecstatic dancing and twirling coupled with "as my inhibitions collapse" makes for superb poetic simile. Brava!

Eileen ~ I love this! "...let down all my defenses..." and "...as my inhibitions collapse..." are terrific mood builders and draw the reader in to the kind of abandonment of restraint that propels this piece. It feels almost "gypsy"-like to me in the most beautiful, positive, kindred way. It is enticing and sensual.

You out dancing with the elves again? it must be nice music you're swaying to, judging by your poem, you're not hanging out with Jersey are you? I'm just wondering. Hugs! Jasmin Horst
