What's Hidden in Transitions

As I lie here awake unable to sleep
that time just as the  morning creeps

To overtake the dark of night
replacing it with suns sweet light

When our thoughts so easily scatter
I'm pondering the grey matter

And all those places in-between
the hidden ones that are unseen

Times when things are in transition
they don't have easy recognition

As when the sun is gone from our eyes
before stars  light up the skies

Like in the lull before the storm
all is still unlike the norm

Those moments before life meets death
before the anatomy  takes its  last breath

That micro space twixt reality and dreams
when illusion is exactly what it seems

I'm  longing to crawl into that interspace
to uncover the mystery of times pace

perception, the defining difference that separates human beings as individuals -- and so it is that we each perceive those transitory experiences far differently -- searching for the relevance -- hoping for the opportunity to share -- seeking spiritual solace and the hand of divine providence to grant us peace -- "what's hidden in transitions"? -- a philosophical question, a religious question -- a rendering from a gifted poet, a wonderful, spiritual lady -- peace and love my dear friend -- Jon Michael

Been there with the same experiences...but could never explain as poetly as you have done here, Eileen! Absolutely beautiful reality you express. To my library, for sure...

Eileen,
Those places in between so well realised and accepted for what they are, the changes in perception and feeling we'd be lost without; once we cope with them we maintain our humanity and our sanity.

Dying to see the other side, leave someone in charge will ya, like someone familiar with these things, or put a string on the bedpost so you don't fly into never never land. You as I see from this poem, must have slipped away somewhere already, glad you're back.

... don't you go disappearing down any cracks between anytime soon, Eileen! :)) Yet you have captured that wonderful je-ne-sais-quoi, the interstices of conscious state, in these wonderfully rhyming couplets that flow seamlessly and without effort, like water through dry sand. You explain so well those epiphanic instants we know exist interleaved between time and space while yet begging the questions. Excellent stuff here! :)) xx

Eileen, you have captured in your highly disciplined couplets
that interval between yesterday and today when the mind opens
to possibilities that wait beyond the mysteries of tomorrow.

Ah, you and about a hundred zillion other people, Eileen. I love the way you used the couplet to get your message across and the in-depth reach you obtained with it.

You write at a time of much inspiration, that short period of time before the sun rises for a new day. It is the element of cosmic illuminations...Nicely done ET
